About

From Amish country, Iowa. At home everywhere.

I grew up in rural Iowa and then moved to Iowa City to receive a BS in Mathematics and a BA in Computer Science. Shortly after graduating my love of electronic music and programming lead me to build a music recommendation app called Flood. After launching Flood, I moved to NYC to work as a software engineer at Spotify. Having been one of the earlier adopters of Bitcoin, I always had a keen interest in blockchain technologies and the potential they held to reshape many of the systems we’ve known to be broken. When Don Mosites, Michael Oved, and Sam Tabar invited me to help them build a new decentralized protocol called Airswap, I dove in. After a successful couple years, Airswap was acquired by Consensys- where I was able to apply all that I had learned about protocol development and decentralized trading, grow it at scale, and deploy it to a user base of millions through building and launching the trading platform within Metamask, Metamask Swaps. Me and my small team successfully built an exchange that has settled billions of dollars in cumulative volume.

Currently my interests are most focused on NFTs and the interesting applications they promise. I am continuing my work at Consensys expanding our NFT programs, as well as working with my partner and co-founder of Eden Airlines art gallery, Ariel Arakas, to create a collaborative profit-sharing smart contract that builds a blockchain based ecosystem of talented, emerging artists. I look forward to see where these technologies take me.
